Services will be held 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman for Annabell L. Slepski, 70 formerly of Poland. She passed away Thursday evening with her husband of 53 years by her side at home. After fighting for a few years, making sure to spend one more holiday season, which was her favorite time of year.
Annabell was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, who was always there with a helping hand. She touched the lives of many. Her home was always opened for anyone that needed help, a friend or dinner. She was a waitress for most of her years with Denny's Restaurant in Boardman. Her last place she worked was the Bessemer Family Restaurant . After retiring , Annabell and her husband enjoyed setting up at Rogers and Four Season Flea Market's and going to garage sales. She also volunteered for 10 years at New Life Church in Poland, at their food pantry. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren which kept making her fight to live.
Annabell was born Nov. 16, 1943 in Cleveland, a daughter of Vernon Gay and Mildred Jane Eades Thompson, moving to Youngstown as a young child. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Louis Slepski, whom she married on July 16, 1960. Her children, Louis (Leslie) Slepski of Salem, Danny Slepski of Boardman, Michelle (Frank) Fani of New Middletown, Michael and Louann Slepski at home. Grandchildren: Louis Slepski , III of Boardman, Jennifer Slepski (Paul Prozy) of Boardman, Brittnie Slepski of New Middletown, Danny (Courtney Stevens) of Boardman, Ashley Slepski of Boardman, Rachael and Emily Slepski of Austintown. Great grandchildren: Peyton Melchione, Abreona,
Paul ,Isabella, triplets; Landon, Lucus and Dominick Prozy, and Addison and Kaedence Borton. And a new one expecting to be here in May. Siblings: Her sisters Kay (Siggy) Kerekes of Liberty, Nanette (Joseph) Soltesiz of Boardman , Carol Seward of Baltimore, MD, Debbie (Steve Benyo) Julian of Niles, Lora (Mylan) Cambell of Hubbard, and Vicky Mangiarelli of Campbell, and her brothers Duane Thompson of Chicora, PA, and Michael (Judy) Thompson of Liberty. And a host of brothers and sisters in law with many nieces, nephews and great ones.
Preceding her in death besides her mother and father are sisters Lois Maksim, Gaylyn, Madline and Judy Thompson and brothers Gay, Gerald, David and Richard Thompson.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the funeral home.
