Lowellville - Ann F Sylvester, 93, of Lowellville, died Wednesday afternoon at her residence.
Ann was born April 15, 1918 in Lowellville, a son of Joseph and Lucy DeMarsh Traveline and was a life-long residence of Lowellville.
Ann's greatest joy was making a home for her family. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her spaghetti sauce, meatballs, kolachi, breads, especially Easter bread and pies. She loved traveling to visit her grandchildren and vacationing with her family at Hilton Head. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, shopping, and listening to Perry Como. Her most memorable times was spending time with her family and her special niece, Martha. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Church.
Her husband Nick Sylvester whom she married August 13, 1937 died August 26, 2002. She leaves three daughters, Elizabeth 'Betty' (Ralph) Jordon of Canfield; Lucy (Don) Rachic and Doris (James) Smith all of Lowellville; ten grandchildren, Nick (Karen) Jordon, Garry (Roxanne) Jordon, JoAnne (David) Bianco, Donald Jr., and Ronald Rachic, Jamie (Keith) DeMetro, Jimmy (Heidi) Smith, Nori Schmidt, Rita Starr, and George Staneff; eleven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by one daughter, Eleanor Staneff; and four brothers, Nick, Mike,James, and Henry Traveline.
A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, 12:00 Noon at Holy Rosary Church with Fr. John Jerak officiating. Interment will follow later at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Lowellville.
Friends will be received Monday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.
