Ann Birch, 95, of Boardman, formerly of Struthers, passed away Wednesday evening, June 26, 2024.
Ann was born July 1, 1928, in Struthers, the youngest of three children, to Frances (Srsic) and Matthew Ulakovich.
Ann was a graduate of Struthers High School and attended the former Youngstown College for two years before being employed in the bookkeeping department of Youngstown Sheet and Tube. 0n June 10, 1950, Ann married Clifford Birch. Together they had three children and were married for 38 years until his passing in December of 1988.
After raising her family, Ann worked at H&R Block. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers, the Struthers VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Kent Mothers Club, and for 25 years volunteered her time doing senior citizens taxes. Ann was also a member of a senior citizen troop that performed line and square dances at nursing homes.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Beckie Birch, of Struthers; her son, Bruce (Annette) Birch, of Ocean Park, Washington; and grandchildren, Chelsea (Steve) Dazo, of St. Helens, OR and Matthew Birch, of Abilene, TX. In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Bobbie; and her brothers, Matthew and Joseph Lockwich.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 9, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring Street, Struthers where a funeral service will follow at 12:00 Noon.
