Angelo Ambrosia, 90 Lowellville- Angelo Ambrosia, 90, died Tuesday afternoon at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Ambrosia was born in In Guardia Lombardi, Italy May 1, 1913, a son of Ralph and Rosaria Cipriano Ambrosia. He came to this country at the age of eight and settled in Lowellville. He was a steelworker at Sharon Steel Corporation, retiring in 1978. He also worked at the Villa Marie Convent for 30 years. He was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church and was also a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #247. He enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Mr. Ambrosia was an United States Army Veteran, having served in the Philippine Islands during WWII. His wife of 54 years, the former Carmela Sciulli, died December 31, 1994 He will be sadly missed by his three children; Gerald (Linda) Ambrosia of Poland, Patricia (Leonard) Rich of New Castle, and Rosemary (Joe) Antonucci of Poland; two sisters, Theresa (Steve) Kondas of Canfield and Frances (Sam) Pompeo of California; two brothers, Anthony (Rose) Ambrosia of Lowellville and Michael Ambrosia of Youngstown; seven grandchildren, Leonard A. Rich, Jon Rich, Michael Ambrosia, Brian Ambrosia, Joseph Antonucci, Vincent Antonucci, and Lisa Rich-Presjnar; and four great-grandchildren. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Brigita Ambrosia; two infant sons, Robert and John Ambrosia; two sisters, Ann Sauline and Rose Storti; and one brother, Rocco Ambrosia. Funeral services will be Friday 9:30 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville and 10:00AM at Holy Rosary Church. Friends may call Thursday from 4-8PM at the funeral home.
