Struthers - Angelina Sevi, 83, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at her home.
Mrs. Sevi was born March 10, 1930 in Marana, Italy, a daughter of Luigino and Lucia Destafano Digiandominico. She lived in Italy until 1958 when she and her daughter, Anna, came to the East Side of Youngstown, joining her husband who had came two years earlier. They lived in Youngstown until moving to Struthers in 1972.
Mrs. Sevi was a dedicated homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother and also worked outside the home. Angelina loved cooking and baking for family and friends. She was known for her homemade bread, pasta, meatballs, and sauce. Angelina will always be remembered for her generosity and strength.
She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. In her free time, Angelina enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed playing a friendly game of cards with friends and neighbors.
Her husband, Ulisse Sevi, whom she married June 21, 1953, died September 10, 1995. She is survived by her daughter, Anna (Johnny) Doss of Poland; Anthony (Barbara) Sevi of Struthers; three grandchildren, John, Maria Angelina, and Ulisse Sevi, all of Struthers; sister, Nazarana Sevi of Italy; two brothers, Dominico (Lucia) Digiandominico and Lino (Angela) Digiandominico, both of Italy; four sisters-in-law, Enis, Ulianna, and Giovanna Digiandominico, and Lucia (Ugo) Donofrio, all of Italy; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, John and Ernest "Gino" Sevi; and three brothers, Giovanni, Augustine, and Carmine Digiandominico; and brother-in-law, Ugo Sevi.
A prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
