Services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman for Andrew Carl Schmidt. He passed away Friday morning at Northside Medical Center.
Mr. Schmidt was born July 6, 1915 in Youngstown a son of Arthur A. and Martha Schueler Schmidt.He had worked at A & P Tea Company for 31 years and then worked as an insurance agent with Prudential for fourteen years.
Andy was a veteran of the US Navy and had been a member of the Chatterbox Club and a lifelong member of Alan Lodge #276 F&AM. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling and had a passion for growing roses.
Surviving him is his wife, the former Twylah Sheely, whom he married April 14, 1968, his children Marilyn J. Carlson of Peach Tree City, GA , Arthur J. (Kate) Schmidt of Myrtle Point, Oregon and James A. (Pat) Schmidt of Hampstead, NC. Also four grandchildren, Todd (Moshelle) Carlson, Kristi (Sean) Gray, Lindsey (Chris) Beam, and Alex Schmidt and six great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are his brother William Schmidt and a sister Marie Masenheimer. Also, his first wife Eleanor (Wietelmann) Schmidt.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. both at the funeral home.
