Poland - Andrew John Lyda, 57, of Poland, died Friday evening, May 2, 2014 at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.
Andy was born December 17, 1956 in Youngstown, a son of Edward and Dorothy Franko Lyda.
A 1974 graduate of Springfield Local High School, Andy was a mechanic. In the 70's he owned and operated Andy's Auto and Radiator Repair. He later worked for Myers Bus Garage, Mashburn Tree Service, and most recently, North Eastern Mowing.
When he was not working, Andy enjoyed fishing, gardening, and tinkering in his garage. He especially enjoyed his four legged friends, his dogs, Lucky and Pepper.
He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown.
Andy leaves one daughter, Andrea Lyda of Boardman; two sisters, Elaine (Dale) Reinke of MI and Winnie (Greg) Russell of Leetonia; two brothers, Robert Lyda of East Palestine and Raymond Lyda of New Middletown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Andy was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Edward Lyda, Jr.
There are no services or calling hours. Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Youngstown.
Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman.
