Edinburg, PA - Andrea Marie Butch, 77, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 5, 2024 at the Hospice House.
She was born August 4, 1946 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Paul and Stella (Gwizdale) Wasylychyn. She graduated from Austintown Fitch High School, and dedicated her life to raising her family.
To say Andrea was active within her church, St. James the Apostle Church, would be a vast understatement. She volunteered her time with the bingo crew at Country Manor, worked the fish frys and breakfasts, and would even make Easter bread for the holiday. She belonged to the Christian Wives and Mothers group, and later on the "small group", where they regularly met up for meals and fellowship together.
She was an amazing and dedicated mom, and spent a lot of time volunteering within their various activities, including the Mohawk band parents. She enjoyed working in their family's business, Ron's Greenhouse, along side them. And in her spare time, she loved going to the casino.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children, Ronald (Kathleen) Butch Jr. of Poland and Melissa (James) Biscella of Edinburg, PA; her grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew Butch, Alexis (Joshua) Bryan, and Adam Biscella; her siblings, Robert (Judy) Wasylychyn of Austintown, Steve Wasylychyn of Austintown, Susie (Joe) Fecko of Austintown, Carol (Bob) Reed of Austintown; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Butch, Sr., whom she married September 7, 1968, and who passed away March 10, 2017; and her brother, Paul Wasylychyn.
Friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish at St. Mary's 124 N. Beaver Street, New Castle, PA 16101 on Thursday, June 13, 2024. She will be laid to rest with her husband at St. James Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 979 Tibbetts-Wick Road, Suite A, Girard, OH 44420 or to the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center, 1044 Belmont Avenue, Youngstown, OH 44504, in her memory.
