North Lima - Amy C. Marinelli, 96, of North Lima, passed away on March 28, 2024, at Aventura Assisted Living. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John Marinelli, whom she married on June 13, 1959.
Born January 25, 1928, in Youngstown, OH, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Lucia (Bisceglia) Lariccia.
Amy attended East High School. She was employed for many years with a prominent Youngstown ophthalmologist, Dr. E. Wenaas, todays, Eye Care Associate. She took great pride in being a homemaker, raising her three children. She was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish at Saint Nicholas and the Mahoning County Council for Retarded Citizens. She expressed her self less personality in the many organizations she volunteered at. Some of these include the Special Olympics and at Hospice of the Valley. She often enjoyed antique collecting and playing bingo. She also enjoyed the fun of pressing her luck at the Mountaineer Casino. Above all, she enjoyed being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She leaves behind her son, Vincent (Lori) Marinelli, of Poland; daughter, Valerie (Sophocles) Sophocleous, of Brecksville; five grandchildren, Brittney (Michael), Vincent, Lee (Felicity), Ellie and Erik, and a great-granddaughter, Charlotte.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph L Marinelli; siblings, Mae Vargo, Ann Cafaro, Ben Lariccia, Mike Lariccia and Connie Lariccia.
Calling hour will be held from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday April 3, 2024, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish - St. Nicholas Church, 964 5th St. Struthers. Interment will be private at St. Johns Cemetery.
