Lowellville- Amelia E. Guido Sferra, 95, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Assumption Village.
Mrs. Sferra was born February 12, 1922 in Lowellville, a daughter of Ralph and Anna Cercone Sylvester.
She was a graduate of Lowellville High School. Prior to becoming a dedicated homemaker, Amelia worked in the movie theater in downtown Youngstown and a local laundromat.
She was a former member of St. Matthias Church and previously attended Christian Assembly. Amelia faithfully prayed daily and enjoyed writing songs and singing.
Amelia was preceded in death by her first husband, Peter Guido, and her second husband, Ernie Sferra. She is survived by four sons, John Daubner of Niles, Louis (Sue) Guido of Indiana, Mark (Brenda) Guido of Boardman, and David Guido of Warren; two daughters, Patricia (Mike) Carbone of Youngstown and Yvonne Guido of California; two sisters, Mary Ginnetti of Lowellville and Martha Gamble of California; 13 grandchildren; 7great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Amelia was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Furman and Viola Thomas; three brothers, Nicholas, Peter, and Alfred Sylvester; and one great-granddaughter.
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
