Alson Ray Wyer, 80 North Lima- Alson Ray Wyer, 80, of North Lima, died Monday morning at Burton Healthcare in Burton, Ohio. Mr. Wyer was born May 23, 1926, in Revere, West Virginia, and was the son of Hannah Wyer. He lived in West Virginia until coming to this area in the 1950âa�a��s. He was employed in the warehouse of the A&P Tea Company in Salem for 11 years, retiring in 1978. He was a United States Army veteran serving in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Wyer was a member of the VFW Post #2799 of New Springfield, the former AMVETS #78 of North Lima, and Teamsters Union #377. Mr. Wyerâa�a��s wife, the former Margaret S. Comsia, whom he married May 24, 1953, died September 24, 2002. He leaves four daughters, Karen L. âa�A"Sargeâa�A� Wiscott of Austintown, Sheryl L. Apgar of Campbell, Janice J. (Willis) Warren of Washingtonville, Ohio, and Joyce L. Durick of Struthers; a niece, Cindy Diane DeMoss of Champion; two sisters, Virgie (Dale) Barker of Smithville, W.V., Este (Donald) Tingler of McFarland, W.V., two brothers, Harland Wyers and Burl Wyer, both of Harrisville, W.V.; nine grandchildren, Tammy Wyer, Eric Barninger, Bryan Apgar, Tracey Apgar, Ashelee Pope, Michael Warren, Corey Pauley, Laura Hilbon, and Sara Warren; and six great-grandchildren. Besides his mother and wife, Mr. Wyer was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Wyer, two sisters, Merle Tingler and Elsie Wells and one son-in-law Richard J. âa�A"Redâa�A� Wiscott. Funeral services will be Friday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home, where a VFW service will be held at 7:30 PM.
