Albert M. Widman

Austintown - Albert Martin Widman, 85, of Alterra Clare Bridge of Austintown, died Monday, July 23, 2007. Mr. Widman was born Monday, September 19, 1921 in Youngstown, a son of Martin and Katherine Mayer Widman. He was a 1939 graduate of South High School, and was a WWII Army Veteran, serving from 1942 to 1945. He worked as a Carpenter, retiring after 40 plus years in 1985. He was a member of the Faith Community Church, where he was active with their senior organizations, and he belonged to several veteran orginizations. Mr. Widman is survived by one daughter, Sandra Lee O'Quinn of Defiance; one son, Alan Widman of Youngstown; and six grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, the former Jane H. Metts, whom he married May 25, 1946 and by two sisters, Lillian T. Stilson and Emma H. Prosser, and two infant sisters. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Faith Community Church, 1919 E. Midlothian Blvd., Youngstown with Pastor Gary Marcy officiating, where friends may call from 10:00 - 10:45 AM. Internment will follow in Lake Park Cemetery.
