Albert âa�A"Nickâa�A� Sylvester, 77 Poland- Albert Sylvester, 77 died Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mr. Sylvester, better known as Nick, was born July 27, 1927 in Lowellville, and was the son of Ralph and Anna Cercone Sylvester. Nick, a 1947 graduate of Lowellville High School and was a foreman in the car shop of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad for over 30 years retiring in 1984. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Poland where he served as usher, was a member of 3rd Source and a member of the Lowellville Senior Citizens. He was an Army Veteran serving in World War II from September of 1945 until January of 1947. Nick, an excellent cook and always had room for one more at the table. He was an avid Cavaliers, Browns, and Indians fan. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildrenâa�a��s events and was very proud of all their accomplishments. Nick âa�A"a great dancerâa�A� was a true gentleman and a real gentle man. He is survived by his wife, the former Roseann Green, whom he married August 10, 1996, three daughters, Ann Sylvester and Linda (Brett) Modic all of Poland and Kathleen Sanders of Austintown; four step-sons, Bill and Tim King both of Dallas, Texas, John King of Atlanta, Georgia, and David King of Garrettsville, Ohio; four sisters, Amelia Guido of Youngstown, Viola Thomas of Campbell, Mary Ginnetti of Lowellville and Martha Gamble of California; one brother, Alfred (Blanche) Sylvester of Coitsville; ten grandchildren, Nick and Sara Sanders, Lindsey, Jessica, Brett, Jenna, and Brianna Modic, and Crystal, Destiny and Kara King. Nick is preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Lydia Nolfi and Nancy âa�A"Tinaâa�A� Giancola, son Nicky Sylvester, brother Peter Sylvester and sister Eleanor Furman. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland and 11:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Friends may call Friday from 4-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
