Albert Salvatore Gentile

Struthers - Albert Salvatore Gentile, 87, died Thursday morning, April 6, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown.
Albert was born August 31, 1929 in Youngstown, a son of Frank and Carmella Jaurella Gentile. He was raised in New Springfield, and moved to Struthers when he was eighteen years old.
He worked as a Combustion Engineer for LTV for 35 years retiring in 1983. After retiring, Albert worked at A&A Drain Service, Aluminum Color, and Giannos Candy. When he was not working, Albert enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He leaves his wife of 66 years, the former Barbara Neider, whom he married August 6, 1950; three daughters, Laura (Kurt) Kaufman of Poland, Barbara (David) Cappitte of Struthers, and Linda Gentile also of Struthers; one son, Albert (Sue) Gentile Jr. of Struthers; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Melnek.
four sisters, Christina Caruso, Mary Popiel, Josephine Santoriella, and Phyllis Monti; two brothers, Thomas Gentile and Joseph Zitello.
Friends and family will be received Monday from 10:00AM-12:00PM at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers followed by a brief time of sharing.
Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
