Albert F. Gender

Struthers - Albert F. Gender, 65 of West Faith Street, Struthers, died Friday, July 25, 2008 at his residence with his family at his side. Mr. Gender was born Tuesday, March 2, 1943 in Youngstown, a son of the Joseph & Edna Davis Gender. He was a 1962 Graduate of Struthers High School. He was a veteran of the US Army, where he was a sharpshooter, and served one tour in Viet Nam. Mr. Gender worked for 32 years as a General Assembler for General Motors, retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church, in Struthers. He loved to go fishing, camping at Pymatuning State Park and most of all he loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. Gender is survived by his wife the former Dorothy P. Tait, whom he married April 24, 1982, one son, Albert (Josephine) Gender of Austintown, Four daughters, Shirley (Joseph) Kocsis of Boardman, Gina (Fiancé Ramon Gutierrez) Gender of Youngstown, Sharon Gender of Struthers, Barbara Gender of Struthers, Six Grandchildren, Nicole and Gianna Kocsis, Eric and Gabrielle Guteirrez, Tiffany Strah and Amanda Parkinson. Three sisters, Martha (Tom) Bryan of Canfield, Babs Gender of Newton Falls and Judy (Jim) Shewell of Newton Falls, and numerous nieces and nephews Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John "Jack" Gender, and his twin sister, Edna Tingler. Family and friends will be received Monday from 5-8 at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers and Tuesday from 9:00 to 9:45 am. where prayer services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am. Funeral Mass will be Tuesday at 10:30 am at the St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery. Condolences may be sent at www.beckerobits.com .
