Alan "Al" G. Yurkovich

Boardman - Alan G. "Al" Yurkovich, 42, died Sunday, June 5, 2016 in Hospice of the Valley's, Hospice House. He was born August 7, 1973 in Youngstown, son of Chuck and Jan Tondy Yurkovich.

He was a graduate of Boardman High School Class of 1991, where he was a member and President of the Boardman High School Orchestra as a bass player. He went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Sociology and Psychology from Youngstown State University in 1997. Alan was a guitar instructor at Axis Music Academy in Detroit, MI for several years. He toured extensively throughout the country as a member of several bands, including Rush tribute band, Book of Three, acoustic band, After Dark and Dave Mathews tribute band, Crush. Al was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, however nothing meant more to him than the time he spent with his family, especially his nieces.

In addition to his parents, he leaves his sister, Michelle (Jim) Lowe of Marysville; four nieces, Kaylynn, Jordyn, Madison and Mackenzie Lowe; his uncle and aunt, Ken and Brenda Yurkovich of Houston, TX. and several great aunts, great uncles and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Alfred and Elizabeth Tondy and paternal grandparents, Charles and Margaret Yurkovich.

A memorial service will be held at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. Boardman, on Thursday, June 9th at 6pm with Pastor Keith Bruner officiating.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 4:30-5:45pm at the funeral home.
