Columbiana - Adda L. (Welker) Clayton, 79, died Monday morning, January 15, 2018 at her home.
Adda was born December 24, 1938 in Youngstown, a daughter of Cloy and Winifred Barnes Welker.
She was a 1957 graduate of Columbiana High School. Adda first worked for Ohio Bell Telephone from 1957 to 1964 and then for South Range Local Schools as a bus driver, retiring after 32 years of service.
In her free time, Adda enjoyed listening to old time country and bluegrass music and watching sports, especially the Cavs, Indians, Steelers, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Buckeyes. She also cherished her many friendships, many of which were lifelong.
Adda is survived by her son, Michael (Christine) Clayton of Canfield; four grandchildren, Jessie (Michael) Glidewell of Virginia Beach, William Baker of Marshfield, WI, Amanda (Ryan) McCallister of Canfield and Eric (Alexis) Clayton of Canfield; two brothers, Floyd (Dee) Welker of North Lima and George (Betty) Welker of Columbiana; two great-grandchildren, Zoe and Barrett Glidewell; and special friend of over 40 years, Bob Cox of Belpre.
In addition to her parents, Adda was preceded in death by her daughter, Jenny Clayton; and her brother and sister-in-law, James and Thelma Welker.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the Victory Christian Center, 350 State Route 7, Columbiana, where a funeral service will follow on Friday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Firestone Cemetery.
The family would like to express their appreciation and thank Adda's caregivers, Carol, Lana, and Cara, Community Hospice, her hospice nurse Tom, and the Beaver Township Fire Department for the wonderful care and support they gave to her.
