Poland - Nicole Lolakis Sacco, 45, of Poland, died Tuesday evening, January 10, 2017 at her home with her family at her side after a long and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Nicole, affectionately known as Nikki, was born December 16, 1971 in Youngstown, a daughter of Ted Lolakis and Veronica Rovnak.
She attended Mooney High School for two years and graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1990. An athlete, Nikki set records and lettered in basketball and softball at both Mooney and Poland. She was also a member of the National Honor Society. For 20 years, Nikki worked as an Xray Technician and Mamographer for numerous companies.
Nikki lived life to the fullest. She was a dedicated and loving wife and mother, and a loyal sister. She would give her shirt off her back for someone in need. She found joy in people, her dogs, Rusty and Buddy, and in nature. She had an insatiable appetite for movies, loved camping at Indian Creek and spending time on the beach. Nikki and her contagious smile will be forever remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her mother, Veronica Zetts of Poland, Nikki leaves her husband of 22 years, Joseph Sacco, whom she married August 27, 1994; one son, Ted Joseph Sacco at home; one sister, Kim (Joe) Nocera of Poland; niece and nephew, Jessica and Dominic, along with other nieces and nephews, whom she adored.
Nikki was preceded in death by her father Ted and step father Stephen Zetts.
