Dorothy E. Straight

Memorial services will be held Sunday Oct. 6, 2013, 3:00 p.m.at Lockwood United Methodist Church for Dorothy E. Straight, 87. She passed away Sept. 23, 2013 at Omni Manor.
Mrs. Straight was born Oct. 15, 1925 in Youngstown, a daughter of Samuel H. and Mary E. (Welsh) Oliphant, Sr. Dorothy dedicated her life to the care of others. For over twenty years she worked as a caregiver and companion to the elderly.
Dorothy was a long time and active member of the church.
Her husband Robert W. Straight whom she married April 4, 1946 died Oct. 3, 1987.
Surviving her are her sons, Roy W. (Sandi) Straight and Richard L. (Sue) Straight both of Boardman, a sister Ruth Heinz of Cooper City, FL, five grandchildren, Jennifer Straight, John Straight, Tom McKinley, Chris McKinley and Brad Straight, a great granddaughter, Lyndsay McKinley. Also, a sister in law Dorothy Oliphant.
Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents are two sisters Mildred McGinnis and Lucille Elser and five brothers, Harry, William, Harold, Paul, and Samuel Oliphant. And her companion Robert "Bud" Kiefer.
Friends may call from 2:00 -3:00 p.m. at the church.
The family requests material tributes take form of contributions to the Church Memorial Fund, Lockwood United Methodist Church, 4570 Lockwood Blvd., Youngstown, OH 44511.
